Dr. Angela Chesanek, Fear Free Certified

Dr. Angela Chesanek was born and raised in Central Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Animal Science (Go Gators!) and from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After snowy Illinois winters, she returned to Orlando after graduation. She has been working in the Orlando/Windermere area since 2005. She has special interests in preventative care, geriatric medicine, dermatology, and pain management. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn, and two young daughters. They love Gator football, Windermere food truck night, and family time. They share their home with Mr. Noodles the (giant) Labradoodle and Stella, the swimming pool-loving Golden Retriever.


Dr. Lauren Peek

Dr. Peek can’t imagine a time in her life that she didn’t want to become a veterinarian! Throughout college she worked with farm animals, as an equine technician, and was even a reproductive biology intern at Disney’s Animal Kingdom before starting veterinary school.

Since graduation from the University of Florida in 2012, she has worked as a veterinarian in both Florida and Tennessee. Dr. Peek lost her Mom to cancer before veterinary school, making euthanasia and hospice care dear to her heart. She has been doing in home euthanasia for the last 4 years and has been honored to provide peace and comfort during these final moments.

Dr Peek shares her home with her husband and 3 wonderful children. In her spare time, she loves spending time outside with her active boys and going to the beach with her family.


Dr. Maria Carolina Grillo

Dr. Maria Carolina Grillo was born in Caracas, Venezuela and immigrated with her family at a young age to South Florida. She is a “double Gator” graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Grillo takes a special interest in mentoring future veterinary students, training technicians, and providing veterinary care to under-serviced communities in Florida and Ecuador. She also received additional training in exotic animal medicine and treats rabbits, ferrets, nonvenomous reptiles, hamsters, and many other pocket pets. Dr Grillo also practices Fear Free medicine.

Dr. Grillo loves being a veterinarian but especially enjoys endocrinology, dermatology, behavior, and geriatric medicine.

She is happily married to her college sweetheart, who loves animals as much as she does.They share their home with their rescue animals Oliver (a Pug), Malygos (a bearded dragon), Nori and Lenny (2 cats). In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, checking out new restaurants, and dancing to Latin music.


Jossette

Practice Manager
Jossette grew up in Central Florida and has always wanted to work with animals. She started in the veterinary field 10 years ago and developed a love for management. Jossette and her husband have an adorable young daughter, Jolie. They share their home with 2 Great Danes, a Labrador Retriever, and a tortoise. Jossette is a baseball fan and cheers for the Yankees! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, shopping, and trying new recipes/restaurants.


Haley

Veterinary Assistant, Fear Free Certified

Haley was raised in Clermont. She worked for Disney for 8 years, where she developed her excellent customer service skills. Her passion for animals has led her to join the Chain of Lakes family and she was part of our opening team in 2018. In her free time, Haley enjoys DIY projects at home. Haley and her husband Stetson welcomed a new son in summer 2020. Haley and Stetson share their home with Max, a Golden Retriever, Molly, a Shiba/Corgi Mix, and Chico, their rescue Chihuahua. Haley has a genuine passion for animals and is a wonderful addition to our staff!


Suzy

Client Relations Specialist, Fear Free Certified

Suzy was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. She worked for over 10 years for large corporations. Her passion and love for animals led her to a new career where her bright smile and excellent skills in client relations landed her a position at a local animal hospital. A new job opportunity for Suzy’s husband brought them to Florida 4 years ago.

Suzy enjoys spending time with her husband, their Corgi Wilson, and horse Mimi. Wilson is a participant and an ultimate competitor in the corgi races. She spends her spare time refinishing furniture, on the lake, running and working out.

Suzy is passionate about your pets and can’t wait to meet your fur family!


Devin

Client Relations Specialist

Devin joined our team in 2022 and has been a huge asset! She has been in the veterinary field for 8 years. Devin has worked as a technican as well as in the customer service aspect of veterinary medicine, which gives her a great knowledge base. Devin was a middle school teacher previously but is now pursuing an additional degree so she can further her career. When she’s not working or in school, Devin enjoys training for marathons and catching up on Netflix. She and her husband share their home with two handsome dogs, Jasper and Finley.


Marianne

Client Relations Specialist

Welcome Marianne! Marianne joined our team in October 2022. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan. Marianne has lived in Michigan and Washington but realized her home is the Sunshine state! On her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her boyfriend, and going to Disney. Marianne has 2 cats names Ziggy and Squirrel. For 15 years, Marianne volunteered at fostered for a cat rescue. Marianne has been in the field since 1993 and is ready to assist you up front with any questions!

 


Jaime

Certified Veterinary Technician, Fear Free Certified

Jaime grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before moving to Florida. Jaime graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at Manor College in 1999 and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She started her career caring for animals at an emergency clinic in Pennsylvania that treated both large and small, scaley and fuzzy creatures. You name it, she probably treated it! Jaime continued at a new, smaller private practice once her daughter started school to be closer to home. She loves the personalized care that a private practice brings to clients and patients. During her free time, Jaime, her husband, Ben, and daughter,Emily, enjoy venturing to the Disney and Universal theme parks. She also enjoys crocheting cute animals and running an occasional 5k, especially for charity. Jaime has an adorable Westie named Hooper, who she is pretty sure thinks he is a cat! Jaime is smart, caring, and dedicated to the health of your pets!


Michelle

Veterinary Technician

Michelle was born in Brooklyn New York and lived there for 16 years until she relocated to Winter Garden in 2003 with her family, and has been a resident here ever since! As a child growing up, she had a dream of being a food taste tester but says that what she does with animals is a perfect second option! Michellehas been married to her high school sweetheart for 4 years, although they’ve known each other for 17 and they have an adorable little boy named Damian Wayne who they welcomed into their family in May 20th of 2021. She loves watching scary movies in her spare time and enjoys spending time outside hiking and walking, and loves to go site-seeing! If you didn’t know if Michelle loves animals, all you need to do is take a peek into her home to find five dogs, four cats, and two bearded dragons! Michelle has been a veterinary technician for 14 years and always has such a sweet passion for helping our fur babies.


Shelby

Veterinary Technician

Shelby was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. When Shelby was a child, she always wanted to be a veterinarian. Her strong passion for animals led her to a career in veterinary medicine. Shelby has a yorkie named Sophie and a handsome tuxedo cat named Tito. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts and spending time with her partner.

If you’re bringing your pet to us for the first time, we look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family! We try to provide a soothing environment for our patients. We would like to minimize the stress sometimes associated with veterinary visits for both you and your pet.
